INDUSTRY CONSIDERATIONS:

AIRPORT
The Calico Rock area is serviced by Calico Rock Municipal Airport located just minutes from
downtown Calico Rock.  The 3,000 foot asphalt runway features tie-downs and a new lighting system.  
A $500,000 grant from the FAA will allow the development of a master plan to include expansion and
improvements to a 4,000 foot runway, taxiway, hangars and instrument approach.

911 SERVICES
Calico Rock and Izard County are serviced by 911 services coordinated at our county seat in
Melbourne.  Ambulance services are provided by
Arkansas Emergency Transport and AirEvac
helicopter.  Emergency medical treatment is available at the
Community Medical Center of Izard
County in Calico Rock and regionally at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home or a
number of trauma centers in Springfield, Missouri, Memphis, Tennessee, or Little Rock, Arkansas.

HEALTH CARE
The Community Medical Center of Izard County is located in Calico Rock, just minutes from our
industrial park.  CMCIC features a clinic open six days per week and staffed by five full-time
physicians.  The hospital features a 25 bed facility, surgical suite, trauma center, and complete
diagnostic capabilities.  A $3.5 million expansion to be completed in 2006 will more than double our
capacity.

Calico Rock is also served by
Mitchell's Park Street Pharmacy for all your family's health needs.  Lane
Dental Clinic and Dr. John Lane, DDS serve the area with dental services.  McClain Chiropractic and
Shad McClain offer a full-range of chiropractic services and massage therapy.  In addition, Calico
Rock is home to
White River Healthcare, a skilled nursing facility.

EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT
Our area has a ready and willing workforce ready to grow your business.  To assist in your search,
AID in Mtn. Home and StaffMark in Batesville can provide assistance in recruiting and retaining your
employees, whether your business needs seasonal, temporary or full-time staffing.  Their current
rate is 41%, much below the industry average.

EDUCATION
White River Pre-School (formerly Rainbow Child Center) is an accredited preschool and day care
facility recently relocated to a new modern facility.  

Calico Rock Head Start (870-297-8853) offers a preschool education experience for students, giving
them the tools they need to be ready to go to public school.

Calico Rock Public School system (870-297-8533) is rated among the best in the state for academic
and extracurricular educational opportunities.  The district is accredited by the North Central
Association and boasts some of the finest facilities in the state.  A new fine arts complex and
auditorium are welcome additions to our elementary campus along with state-of-the-art athletic
facilities at our high school campus.

Ozarka College (870-368-7371)offers both vocational training programs and a two-year college
located within 20 minutes of Calico Rock.  
Arkansas State University in Mountain Home
(870-508-6100)offers both four-year and two-year degree programs and transfer credits to other
four-year higher education institutions.  Both are just a short drive from Calico Rock.

PROTECTION
Calico Rock Volunteer Fire Department (870-297-4203) provides an all-volunteer fire protection
system to our area with modern facilities and equipment and state-of-the-art training.  Our fire
protection insurance rates are very low and our community has continually invested in the services
of our fire department.  

Police protection is provided on a contract law enforcement basis with the
Izard County Sheriff's
Department (870-368-4203).  Modern equipment, well-trained staff and a department focused on
crime prevention and community policing provides excellent services for our area.
Izard County offers 911 emergency services throughout the county.

UTILITIES
Entergy (800-368-3749) is the provider of electrical power to Calico Rock and Pineville and the
surrounding unincorporated areas are supplied by
North Arkansas Electric Cooperative
(870-895-3221). Single and three-phase primary distribution is at 13.8 and 161 Kilovolts. The electric
utilities personnel are eager to discuss the needs of prospective industries.

Natural gas service in the area by is provided by
Arkansas Western Gas Company (870-425-5445).  
Several companies offer propane service to the area.

Local service is provided by
CenturyTel (800-225-2594 residential) or (800-225-2587 commercial) with
DSL and high speed internet access available within the city limits.

Calico Rock Water and Sewer system consists of 75,000 and 225,000 gallon ground tanks and a 50,000
gallon elevated tank. Up to 587,000 gallons of chlorinated well water can be pumped each day.
Copies of the water rates are available from City Hall (870-297-3772).

Since 1993, waste water treatment has included a vacuum sewer system. The modern system
satisfies all current EPA requirements.

Pickup is by contractor and refuse is hauled to an EPA approved landfill by
IESI. More information is

Calico Rock is home to two great financial institutions: First National Bank of Izard County and
